Caramel Sauce

I have no idea where this recipe came from; I’ve had it stuck in this ugly binder I’ve had since I got married and I’ve NOT been married for 24 year! It’s easy…but, yum, just try not to lick you fingers. I would so be dissed by the judges on one of those chef shows cause what’s the point of cooking if I can’t try a lick for myself?

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • ½ cups Half-and-half
  • Pinch Of Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla

Mix the brown sugar, butter, half & half and salt in a medium saucepan and cook over medium low heat. Whisk for 5 to 7 minutes until sauce thickens. Add vanilla and cook another minute.

Remove from heat and allow to cool. Pour sauce into container and store in the refrigerator.
